(3/4/2014) — US India Policy Institute (USIPI) is holding a dinner discussion on Saturday, April 5th in Houston, Texas. The discussion topic is the challenges facing minorities in India and the strategies needed to wrestle them.
The dinner meeting will be held at Mezban Restaurant in Houston starting at 6:00 p.m. with networking and dinner followed by the presentations. The theme of the presentation is “Inclusive Development Strategies for Minorities: In the Decade Ahead.”
This discussion will be led by Dr. Abusaleh Shariff, the advisor to the Indian Prime Minister and the member secretary of the Prime Minister’s High Level Committee on the status of the social, economic, and educational conditions of the Muslim community of India also known as Sachar Committee. Dr. Shariff is a renowned economists and the Chief Scholar of USIPI.
Dr. Shariff is also the founder and president of the Centre for Research and Debates in Development Policy (CRDDP) and was the Chief Economist at the National Council of Applied Economic Research (NCEAR) prior to joining USIPI.
